CIN has established 40 women’s village Banks during the period of 1998 to 2003. One thousand and ninety (1090) women from 6 different VDCs of Rupandehi district have their direct involvement while establishing the banks and have benefited by the program. The program was founded by “Pact International, The Asia Foundation and WEP (WEP was funded by USAID).
Key works of the program were as given below:
- Empowering Literacy
- Legal education
- Women’s village bank.
Since the tenure of that particular program is already over, those village Banks have been transformed and registered as women’s Cooperative.
