Out of 17 goals from Sustainable Development we can only reach only upto 8 goals if there is mutual level of understanding during budget making process among central ministries to local level. If we are able to implement these 8 goals unequal power relations revalent in society can be ended; patriarchal discrimination against women, oppression and violence can be controlled, and male participation can be increased against gender-based violence. If works are done collectively on this sector we will be able to achieve every goals of SDG by 2030A.D.
Therefore, it is necessary for the Federal and the local level government to review their budgeting and make it gender responsive to the extent possible. In addition to the Women's and Children's Division, a gender responsive budget should be planned for every sector and CIN is also working for the similar aim.
One-day orientation training on gender responsive budget was conducted in financial support with TEWA.
Training program was focused for the participants of 12 municipalities of 4 districts (Rupandehi, kapilbastu, Gulmi, Nawalparasi). The municipalities were Baadganga, sainamaina, Suddhodhan, Siyari, Lumbini Sanskritik; Kanchan; Siddharthanagar; Omsatiya; Tilottama; Butwal; Tinau; and Sunwal.
